The Studio Vision

Sisters Clay Collective is a community pottery studio built on the belief that creativity grows best when it’s shared. Our doors are open to all experience levels—from first-time potters curious to try the wheel, to experienced artists looking for a space to refine their craft. We offer beginner classes, advanced workshops, and monthly memberships for those ready to make clay a regular part of their life.

But beyond the classes and memberships, our studio is about connection. There’s a particular kind of joy that happens here—the quiet focus at the wheel, the laughter that drifts across the tables, the collective gasp when a kiln is opened and everyone leans in to admire what’s emerged from the fire. It’s in those moments that we’re reminded: creating in community is a kind of magic. Together, we’re not just making pottery—we’re shaping something far more lasting: belonging.

After years of building teams and businesses, I’ve found my way back to clay, the medium that reminds me what real creation feels like. Clay teaches humility, resilience, and joy in the process—lessons that reach far beyond the wheel. It mirrors life itself: messy, unpredictable, and deeply rewarding. I’m inspired to build a studio that blends artistry with community, where people can come together to create, connect, and rediscover the grounding power of making something with their hands.

My love for clay was developed in high school and has been a creative outlet and therapeutic medium for me ever since. I am driven by creativity and the unique connection of tangible strength and humility I find in working with clay.

My drive for community is just as strong. I am excited to pair pottery with the community that I love. I am looking forward to meeting you and providing a safe and welcoming space where we can share in our creativity, get our hands dirty, laugh together, and build something special.

Meet the Instructors

Gracie

I have been teaching pottery for the past 2.5 years with BPRD.  I received a BA in Fine Arts with a focus on Ceramics and Art History in 2010 and since then have continued working with many artistic mediums, including watercolor, oil painting, and collage.  When I teach pottery, I continually learn from my students, which encourages me to push boundaries in my own work. Functional Art is my true passion, as it allows me to have a close, daily experience with my own art and the art of others.  It can elevate any mundane moment with a spark of joy and creativity, truly enhancing the human experience.

I’m a multidisciplinary artist, but my biggest passion is ceramics. I have been exploring hand building, wheel throwing, slip casting, and sculpting since stumbling into a ceramics course during my final semester of college at the University of Utah in 2014. I’m a sculptor at heart - my favorite way to use clay is through sculpting female busts with some occasional surrealism sprinkled in. I’m so excited to teach and build community with you! I have always loved to have my hands in the earth. Growing up in the red clay soils of Virginia, the sandbox and garden were my favorite spots. These were the spots where my siblings and I played potions, made dinosaur eggs, and grew peas. I started to love clay and wheel throwing at a clay class when I was nine. Fast forward to college outside of Asheville, NC; my school had a fabulous ceramics department. While I was there, I could be found with my hands in the clay, in the science department, or working in the garden. I have a deep love for clay and the creativity it allows me to express. I have taken so many classes, made 100s of bowls and cups and bakeware as a production potter, taught classes, returned to the creativity of ceramics for myself, and fallen in love with clay all over again! Somehow, I have been a ceramics artist for over 20 years! And it is still an exciting medium for me. Now you can find me teaching, running with my toddler on his bike, and laughing with my sweetheart Matt.
